JOB SUMMARY
The Inside Product Support Sales Representative for the Power & Energy Division is responsible for growing parts and service sales while building strong customer relationships within an assigned customer list. Through proactive outbound contact and ongoing account management, this role helps improve customer satisfaction, increase market share, and support business growth. The representative will manage approximately 250 established customer accounts, with contact frequency based on customer needs and potential. As the primary point of contact, this position handles inbound and outbound customer communications related to parts, maintenance supplies, service solutions, and other Ohio CAT offerings. Additional responsibilities include preparing parts quotes and repair estimates, conducting visual equipment inspections, promoting sales campaigns, and supporting the division's products and services. While some travel to customer sites may be required, the majority of work is performed in an office environment. This position can be based out of Columbus, OH, or Cincinnati, OH .
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED. Prior industry knowledge of the products and services, along with a technical background of the products sold and serviced will be required. Telephone sales experience strongly preferred. Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Software is desired.
COMPETENCIES
An initiative-taking individual who can work independently and collaborate with a team. Ability to manage multiple tasks and good organizational skills. Knowledge of Power Generation equipment, preferably with Caterpillar equipment, parts, and service. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong customer service skills and ability to exceed customer expectations. Advanced computer skills and the ability to operate in CAT information retrieval systems and Microsoft Office Applications. Must have a strong sales orientation and mechanical aptitude.
