Full-Time About Lone Star Prosthetics Lone Star Prosthetics provides patient-centered prosthetic care while working closely with physicians, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, therapists, case managers, skilled nursing facilities, wound care clinics, and other healthcare partners. We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and relationship-driven coordinator to help patients navigate the prosthetic care process while strengthening relationships with referral sources. About the Role The Prosthetic Patient Care & Referral Coordinator serves as a liaison between patients, referral sources, healthcare providers, and the clinical and administrative team. This role combines patient coordination, healthcare outreach, referral relationship development, documentation support, and post-delivery follow-up. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with patients and families while also being proactive in the community - visiting healthcare facilities, building professional relationships, conducting educational presentations, and supporting referral growth. What You'll Do Develop and maintain professional relationships with physicians, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, skilled nursing facilities, case managers, therapists, wound care clinics, and other referral sources. Conduct in-service presentations, educational meetings, and Lunch & Learn events for healthcare providers and facilities. Represent Lone Star Prosthetics at networking, community, and industry-related events and support marketing and outreach initiatives. Serve as a primary point of contact for referred patients and their families from initial referral through prosthetic delivery and follow-up. Coordinate patient intake, collect demographic, insurance, physician, and medical information, and help patients understand the prosthetic process, insurance requirements, and expected timelines. Maintain communication with patients, referral sources, and clinical staff throughout authorization, fabrication, delivery, and follow-up. Assist in obtaining physician notes, medical records, therapy documentation, and other supporting documentation needed for insurance authorization, claims, and audits. Track outstanding referral and documentation requirements and maintain accurate communication and referral records. Conduct post-delivery follow-up to assess patient satisfaction, identify concerns, and coordinate adjustments, repairs, warranty services, or clinical follow-up as needed. Provide appropriate status updates to referral sources and communicate relevant patient information to clinical, administrative, billing, and management staff. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, HITECH, Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance requirements, and company policies. What We're Looking For At least two years of experience in healthcare, patient coordination, medical office administration, customer service, sales, marketing, case management, or a related field. Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confidence speaking with healthcare professionals and presenting to groups. Strong organization, time management, follow-through, and multitasking skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain timely communication. Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally for patient-related activities, facility visits, marketing, and referral development. Preferred Experience Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, marketing, communications, or a related field. Experience in Prosthetics and Orthotics (O&P), Durable Medical Equipment (DME), rehabilitation, physical medicine, orthopedics, wound care, or a related healthcare specialty. Medical sales, physician liaison, healthcare marketing, or referral-development experience. Experience conducting provider in-services, Lunch & Learn presentations, or healthcare outreach programs. Experience with EMR systems, medical terminology, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and healthcare documentation. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, workers' compensation, and commercial insurance processes. Experience coordinating care among patients, physicians, therapists, case managers, and healthcare facilities or supporting amputee rehabilitation and mobility-related services. Schedule & Work Environment Combination of office, clinical, and field-based work. Frequent interaction with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and referral partners. Local travel to healthcare facilities and provider offices is required. Occasional early-morning, evening, or lunch-hour marketing and educational events may be required.
