Job Description
We are seeking a Front Desk Staff member to join our team. Experience working in a health club in a customer support role is desired but not required. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment (e.g. monitor check-ins while completing sales, etc) as well as use quiet times to clean, replenish supplies, complete projects, etc. Position includes weekend and night shifts. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to come to work in inclement weather throughout the winter. (This is a permanent position; please do not apply if you will not be available during the school year.) Must be self-motivated, friendly, outgoing, energetic and willing to contribute to a team environment while working individually. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in building or expanding a career in fitness and is looking to meet and help others who are serious about fitness and health. A gym membership is included with the position. Duties
- Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive
- Provide membership information and efficiently enroll new members and aid with membership problems
- Answer, screen, and take messages for incoming phone calls
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone
- Receive, sort, and distribute deliveries
- Monitor member check-ins, watching out for and addressing any membership issues
- Perform some clerical duties such as filing, proofreading, or light data entry
- Answer basic questions about exercise equipment
- Make smoothies & sell drinks, bars, & merchandise
- Restock supplies as necessary
- Complete light cleaning duties, including cleaning bathrooms at the end of any closing shifts. Experience
- Proven work experience in a health club or as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role desired but not required
- Hands-on experience with computers helpful
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate clearly and regularly with offsite management when warranted.
