This is not simply a membership sales position, and it is not a typical 9-to-6 job. The Senior Membership Advisor owns the relationship with a member from the first inquiry through membership enrollment, Personal Training, renewals, and the ongoing member journey. We are looking for someone who understands that great sales come from great relationships. The strongest Membership Advisor doesn't disappear after the contract is signed - they stay connected, anticipate what the member needs next, and make sure the member continues to see value in Gym U. This role combines membership sales, Personal Training sales, relationship management, retention, and exceptional service. Responsibilities Membership Sales & Lead Management Manage new leads from first inquiry through membership enrollment Respond quickly to incoming leads by phone, text, and email Maintain consistent and persistent follow-up with every qualified prospect Conduct personalized club tours and consultations Understand each prospect's goals and recommend the appropriate membership solution Close membership sales and consistently achieve monthly sales targets Re-engage older leads and lost opportunities Follow up with prospects after tours, guest visits, events, referrals, and trials Maintain an organized sales pipeline with a clear next action for every active prospect Accurately document all communication and activity in GymSales Ensure qualified prospects are never lost simply because nobody followed up Personal Training Sales Personal Training is a major part of the Gym U member experience, and the Senior Membership Advisor is expected to actively drive PT sales and retention. Introduce Personal Training as part of the member journey from the beginning Understand members' fitness goals and identify appropriate PT opportunities Sell new Personal Training packages and PT renewals Present PT options confidently and clearly at the point of sale Match members with the appropriate trainer based on goals, personality, experience, and availability Work closely with trainers to understand their specialties, schedules, clientele, and availability Develop strong working relationships with the Personal Training team Stay informed about each training client's experience and progress Identify clients approaching the end of their packages and begin renewal conversations early Coordinate with trainers on renewal opportunities, client concerns, scheduling issues, and retention Follow up with members who stop training to understand why and identify opportunities to bring them back The goal is not simply to sell a PT package. The goal is to build a training relationship that continues. Member Relationship & Retention The Senior Membership Advisor is expected to know their members and maintain meaningful communication throughout the membership - not only when something needs to be sold. Build genuine, long-term relationships with members Stay in contact with members after they join Check in on their experience, progress, training, and overall satisfaction Recognize potential problems before they become cancellations Maintain strong membership and Personal Training renewal rates Identify members whose engagement is declining and proactively reconnect with them Resolve concerns quickly or connect the member with the right person who can Know what is happening in the club and proactively introduce members to relevant classes, trainers, events, services, and experiences Create reasons for members to stay connected to Gym U Exceptional & "One Step Ahead" Service At Gym U, good customer service is expected. The goal is to deliver service that is one step ahead. That means noticing what a member may need before they have to ask.
The Senior Membership Advisor should:
Remember members, their preferences, goals, trainers, and important details Anticipate questions and potential issues Follow up before the member has to follow up with us Recognize important moments in the member journey Create thoughtful personal touches whenever appropriate Take ownership of a problem rather than saying, "That's not my department" Make members feel known, recognized, and taken care of Exceptional service should be one of the primary tools used to create high renewal and retention rates. Performance Expectations Success in this role will be measured not only by new membership sales, but by the quality and longevity of the relationships created.

New membership sales Personal Training sales Membership renewals Personal Training renewals Lead response and follow-up Conversion rates Member retention Client communication CRM accuracy and pipeline management Quality of relationships with members and trainers What We Are Looking For Strong sales experience; fitness, luxury hospitality, membership, real estate, or high-end service sales experience preferred Proven ability to close sales and achieve targets Experience selling higher-value services or packages Excellent relationship-building skills Strong phone, text, email, and in-person communication Exceptional follow-up discipline Comfortable working with CRM and sales-management systems Highly organized and detail-oriented Confident handling objections and asking for the sale Professional presentation and communication Naturally proactive Competitive and results-driven without sacrificing the member experience Able to build strong relationships with both clients and colleagues Comfortable being held accountable for measurable results Willing to work extra hours to hit the monthly target
