Job description Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional, and timely manner, providing prompt efficient and accurate member services. Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and accurately enter deposits into computer records. Process withdrawals from accounts and or share drafts/check cashing, verify amounts, and enter withdrawals into system accurately. Cash share drafts/checks from a variety of accounts upon proper verification according to credit union policies and procedures. Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds. Balance cash drawer at the proper time each day and compare totaled amount to computer generated balancing process. Research and resolve discrepancies. Report any out of balance situations to the Senior Teller and Branch manager. Maintain an up to date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services that are handled or promoted by tellers. Maintain an up to date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules and regulations for the teller area, including robbery procedures, Bank secrecy act and Patriot act. Promote, explain and cross-sell all cu products and services such as consumer loans, mortgage loans, IRA's, CD's, debit and credit cards, online banking, money orders, and any other promotional products where available Handle all member requests for transfers, withdrawals, deposits, check requests, CD transactions, and all other requests . Maintain operational knowledge of computers and software applications. Operate on-line terminal to the data processor specifications. Open and establish new accounts for new members as well as make changes to existing member accounts following strict guidelines for both processes. Set up new account files, and provide member with all necessary paperwork, disclosures necessary for membership Answer all incoming calls and direct calls to appropriate people or department. Prior Cash Handling experience necessary
