Summary/Objective:

As a Member Service Representative I (MSR I) , you'll be the face of the credit union—delivering fast, friendly, and accurate service in a dynamic, high-energy environment. An MSR I assists members and processes transactions effectively and accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a balanced cash drawer and adhering to internal controls and procedures. MSR I answers member's questions regarding credit union services, products and any account issues that may arise. This position builds member loyalty by developing relationships and offering exceptional member service, while generating new business by actively cross-selling credit union products and services.
Essential Functions:
Greets members and facilitates a welcoming and member-focused environment. Performs routine member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers and check cashing. Assists and directs members to the appropriate staff member to open accounts and certificates of deposit. Comply with federal regulations such as: Regulation D, Truth in Savings (TIS), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC). Assist members with account(s) closures. Orders checks and assists with ordering lost or stolen debit cards for members. Examines checks for endorsements and negotiability and places holds when appropriate. Keeps members informed and explains credit union products and services while actively cross-selling those services and products when appropriate. Responds to member inquires and concerns by researching and identifying positive solutions or referring to the appropriate staff member or department for resolution. Balance daily transactions and verify cash totals. Notifies Lead Member Service Representative or Branch Manager of out-of-balance conditions. Attends and participates in training courses to advance product knowledge and member service skills. Maintains privacy of member account information. Maintains good working relationships with fellow staff members and provides assistance when needed.

As a full-time Member Service Representative I (MSR I) , you'll be the welcoming face of our credit union while learning what makes Oregonians Credit Union thrive and building the foundation for a career. This can be more than a frontline role; it can serve as a launchpad for your future in financial services. You'll experience a team-driven environment where you will have the opportunity to display an attention to detail and a drive to help others will shine. Our full-time schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with Friday shifts rotating to cover the extended half hour of lobby access until 6:00 p.m. And—great news—we're closed on Saturdays, giving you your weekends back. Whether you're starting your career or looking to grow within the credit union world, this position is the perfect training ground. Many of our leaders including our CEO began as MSRs—and with the right mindset, you can be next. Work is performed in a financial institution environment.

Remote work not available. Position is 100% in person.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand and walk or maneuver around the branch. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Travel:
Occasional light travel between branches and for training purposes.
Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous member service experience required.
  • Experience with cash handling preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn how to operate related computer applications and other business equipment including adding machine, copy machine, fax machine, coin and money counting machines and internal telephone system.
  • Business casual appearance, dress, and professional attitude.
