Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Member Support Specialist I to serve as the first point of contact for members and guests at Shelton Athletic Club. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, assist with membership inquiries, support daily front desk operations, and help create a welcoming environment that reflects the club's commitment to health, wellness, and community. This position primarily requires evening and weekend availability , and dependable attendance is essential to maintaining service standards and club operations. Your professionalism, attention to detail, reliability, and positive attitude will play a key role in ensuring an outstanding member experience. Responsibilities Greet members and guests in a professional, friendly manner and provide exceptional customer service at all times. Assist members with account inquiries, membership information, program registration, facility usage questions, and general club services. Process memberships, renewals, payments, and point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently. Answer incoming phone calls providing timely and accurate information. Maintain accurate member records and ensure confidentiality of personal and financial information. Support daily front desk operations, including facility check-ins, scheduling assistance, and administrative tasks. Assist with promoting club programs, events, services, and membership opportunities to members and prospective members. Resolve routine member concerns professionally and escalate complex issues to management when appropriate. Perform daily and shift-specific cleaning duties, including maintaining cleanliness and organization of the front desk area, lobby, locker rooms, fitness spaces, and other assigned club areas. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment that enhances the member experience. Collaborate with club staff and departments to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service delivery. Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality for all scheduled shifts, recognizing the critical role this position plays in club operations and member service. Experience Previous customer service, reception, hospitality, retail, or member services experience is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with members, guests, and team members. Proficiency with basic computer applications, office software, and point-of-sale or membership management systems is preferred. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced customer service environment. Experience handling cash, processing payments, and balancing transactions is advantageous. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and other scheduled shifts as needed. Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to consistent attendance are essential qualifications for success in this role.
