Job Description The Ike Family of Dealerships, VW of Marion and Ike Honda, is hiring a Vehicle Merchandising & Support Specialist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to keep our online vehicle inventory accurate, complete, and professionally presented. This includes photographing vehicles, managing online listings, verifying vehicle information, and maintaining consistent merchandising across our websites. This is a hands-on, physically active role that combines photography, technology, organization, vehicle movement, and dealership support. New to the automotive industry? No problem. This position is a strong fit for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable with technology, enjoys photography, and prefers a combination of computer-based work and active, hands-on responsibilities. Primary Responsibilities - Vehicle Merchandising The primary responsibility of this role is to keep our online vehicle inventory accurate, complete, and professionally presented. Photograph new and pre-owned vehicles for Volkswagen of Marion and Ike Honda Take preliminary and full vehicle photo sets according to dealership standards Upload, organize, and review photos to ensure they appear correctly online Maintain accurate and compliant online vehicle listings Upload window stickers, reorder photos, and apply merchandising banners Track inbound vehicles and maintain the Volkswagen in-transit inventory process Update vehicles in vAuto and verify features, trims, colors, and pricing Write comprehensive vehicle descriptions for online listings Print buyer's guides and window labels for pre-owned vehicles Track vehicles through the reconditioning and merchandising process Communicate vehicle updates and concerns to the appropriate departments Work with vendors to troubleshoot inventory and website issues Organize, restock, and audit Volkswagen Driver's Gear inventory Place and pick up the weekly Sam's Club order Update Sales and Service Specials on the Volkswagen and Honda websites Secondary Responsibilities - Administrative & Team Support While vehicle merchandising is the primary responsibility, support duties may increase during periods of lighter inventory volume. Help with dealership events, promotions, signage, and displays Order apparel, signage, giveaways, and business materials Help with charity initiatives, displays, and check presentations Update signs, posters, flyers, and showroom materials Take photos for employees, promotions, events, and internal use Support internal documentation and administrative systems Cover inbound phone calls during scheduled support times and overflow periods Assist with KeyTrak audits, vehicle inventories, and recurring reports Assist with errands and operational projects as needed Help keep customer-facing areas organized and presentable Complete other assigned duties supporting dealership operations, the Business Support Specialist, and the Marketing Coordinator. What We're Looking For Comfortable using computers, tablets, smartphones, cameras, and web-based systems Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Experience taking, reviewing, organizing, and uploading digital photos Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify small inconsistencies Organized, process-driven, and able to follow detailed procedures Strong eye for photography, presentation, and visual consistency Comfortable managing multiple vehicles and assignments without losing track of details Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor Comfortable working independently after training Receptive to feedback and willing to adjust established habits or techniques Positive, proactive, dependable, and willing to take ownership of assigned work Comfortable safely driving and parking vehicles of different sizes Willing and able to work outdoors throughout the year Preferred Qualifications Experience with Dealer Image Pro, CDK, VAuto, Rapid Recon, or Dealer Inspire Ability to drive a manual transmission Comfortability with driving and parking vehicles Physical Requirements This is a physically active position and is not a desk-only role. The employee must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday, sometimes for most of an eight-hour shift Work outdoors in heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity, and other seasonal conditions Frequently enter and exit vehicles and open and close vehicle doors, hoods, trunks, and liftgates Repeatedly bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and crouch to capture vehicle photos from the proper angles Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull supplies, marketing materials, event equipment, signs, and other operational items Assist with setting up and tearing down dealership and community events Safely drive and park vehicles throughout dealership property Safely navigate dealership lots, sidewalks, curbs, and uneven outdoor surfaces Frequently use a camera, smartphone, computer, and other technology throughout the workday Physical demands may vary from day to day based on inventory levels, dealership activities, marketing events, and other business needs. Schedule This position may be available as either full-time or part-time. Morning availability is required.
