This role requires a strong combination of product expertise, buying experience, analytical skills, and project management. The ideal candidate has experience within the sports apparel, licensed sports, retail, or consumer products industry, with experience supporting major sporting events, leagues, or event-driven merchandise programs preferred. They should be comfortable managing products from initial concept and assortment planning through sourcing, production, event execution, delivery, and sales analysis. This individual will work closely with clients, vendors, finance teams, creative teams, production resources, and other key stakeholders to ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest level of quality. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end delivery, execution, and quality of apparel and merchandise programs, from initial concept and product selection through production and final delivery. Manage the buying and product selection process, developing assortments based on client needs, historical sales, current trends, event requirements, and overall program objectives. Manage budgets and OTB planning, working closely with finance and internal teams to monitor spending, inventory investment, forecasts, and overall financial performance. Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, product trends, and historical data to make informed buying and assortment decisions and identify opportunities for growth. Develop and maintain detailed sales, inventory, purchasing, and performance reports, using data to provide actionable insights and recommendations. Serve as a key point of contact for client communication, working directly with clients and key stakeholders to understand program goals, provide updates, present recommendations, and ensure expectations are aligned throughout the lifecycle of each program. Oversee vendor relationships, including sourcing, pricing, contract negotiation, performance management, production timelines, and quality expectations. Partner with creative and production teams to develop products that meet brand guidelines, program objectives, pricing requirements, and delivery timelines. Manage multiple programs, product categories, vendors, timelines, and priorities simultaneously while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail. Monitor production and delivery schedules, proactively identifying potential risks or delays and developing solutions to keep programs on track. Evaluate program and product performance to identify opportunities to improve assortments, inventory levels, profitability, and future buying decisions. Maintain a strong understanding of sports apparel, consumer trends, product categories, and the competitive marketplace. Travel to client meetings, events, vendor locations, production facilities, or other business-related destinations as needed. Qualifications & Experience 3+ years of experience in sports product management, buying, apparel, retail, consumer products, or a related field. Strong buying experience required, with sports apparel, licensed sports, or sports-related industry experience highly preferred. Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated experience building, managing, and analyzing detailed reports. Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to build relationships, present recommendations, manage expectations, and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. Strong understanding of apparel development, sourcing, production, and supply chain processes. Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop solutions independently. Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of projects from concept through completion. Ability and willingness to travel as required for client meetings, events, vendor visits, and other business needs.
