Job Description

Parts Sorter Job Description Position Summary The Parts Sorter is responsible for organizing and sorting cabinet components by cabinet number into designated cubbies using provided data sheets and checklists. This role supports production flow by ensuring parts are accurately sorted, inspected for quality, and routed to the correct departments. The Parts Sorter plays a critical role in maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and organization throughout the manufacturing process. Essential Functions (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Sort cabinet components into designated cubbies according to cabinet numbers using provided data sheets.
  • Inspect parts during sorting to verify accuracy and quality.
  • Check off parts on production checklists to ensure completeness.
  • Route non-cabinet components to the appropriate departments using conveyor systems.
  • Maintain organization and accuracy within sorting areas and cubbies.
  • Identify missing, damaged, or incorrect parts and report issues to supervisors.
  • Push and pull transfer carts and part cubbies throughout the production area.
  • Support workflow between departments by ensuring timely movement of parts.
  • Follow company procedures and supervisor instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with safety standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. Education and Required Skills
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and schematics.
  • Basic understanding of cabinet construction preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and production documentation.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a team.
Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to noise levels consistent with a millwork manufacturing environment. Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and use hands for extended periods. Must be able to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work full shifts in an active production environment.
