Role:

The Parts Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the parts department by managing inventory, processing orders, and providing exceptional customer service. This position is responsible for accurately identifying, sourcing, and distributing powersports or machinery parts to meet the needs of customers and service technicians. The Parts Associate collaborates closely with other departments to maintain optimal stock levels and support repair and maintenance activities. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential to track parts availability and handle documentation effectively. Ultimately, this role contributes to customer satisfaction and operational success by facilitating timely and accurate parts delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of powersports or machinery parts and terminology. Experience with inventory management systems or point-of-sale software. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift and handle parts weighing up to 50 pounds safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Parts Associate or in a related role within the powersports, automotive or industrial sector. Knowledge of parts or inventory management. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams or manuals. Forklift operation certification or experience or willingness to get certified.

Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts shipments accurately and efficiently. Assist customers and service technicians in identifying and locating the correct parts needed for repairs or maintenance. Process parts orders, prepare invoices, and manage returns or exchanges in accordance with company policies. Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems and conduct regular stock audits to prevent shortages or overstocking. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to place orders and follow up on delivery schedules to ensure timely availability of parts.

The Parts Associate utilizes strong organizational skills daily to manage inventory and ensure parts are accurately tracked and available when needed. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, technicians, and suppliers to clarify part specifications and resolve issues promptly. Proficiency with inventory management software enables the associate to process orders, update stock levels, and generate reports efficiently. Problem-solving skills help in identifying alternative parts or solutions when specific items are unavailable.
