Non-Exempt Position Summary The Inventory Clerk (Parts Clerk) is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking parts and materials used in daily operations. This role supports technicians, service staff, and customers by ensuring accurate inventory control, timely parts availability, and proper documentation throughout the parts warehouse. Areas of Ownership The Inventory Clerk takes full ownership of the following functional areas: i. Accuracy of inventory issuing ii. Cycle counts performed per established schedule iii. Maintenance requisition process iv. Proper put-away of all inventory with bin location and labeling v. Work order inventory issuing vi. Maintaining 5S standards in the Parts Warehouse and surrounding grounds Daily Responsibilities Receive parts in JDE and accurately log items into the inventory system with item description and part number from the packing slip. Shelve, label, and organize parts in designated storage locations; stock goods in their proper bin location as they are received. Issue inventory as required by demand, verifying that the proper work order and asset are being used. Check stock levels and identify low or out-of-stock items; escalate critical shortages promptly. Answer part-related questions from technicians, customers, and staff in a timely and professional manner. Process returns, warranties, and defective parts according to company procedures. Request and locate all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) related to any chemical or oil received. Maintain cleanliness and order of the parts room and inventory storage area in accordance with 5S standards. Ensure all parts are labeled with their bin location number. Parts should only remain boxed or wrapped to protect part integrity or prevent corrosion. Weekly Responsibilities Open Purchase Order (PO) Report Run open PO report and review for orders that have not been filled. Send the report to the Maintenance Manager weekly with status updates. Parts Received Report Run the parts received report to identify all parts received during the previous week. Verify that all received parts have been added to Redzone. Inventory Value Report Run the actual inventory value report for the previous week. Identify inventory value and provide the report to the Maintenance Director. Inventory Management Checks Review all inventory parts to confirm minimum and maximum quantities are set. Run the zero inventory parts report; no critical part should have a zero quantity on hand.
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions Shift Length:
12-hour shifts
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand for the majority of the shift and lift/handle up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment:
Parts warehouse and surrounding grounds; exposure to mechanical parts, lubricants, and chemicals requiring SDS compliance. Qualifications & Experience Required Previous experience supporting manufacturing inventory management. Proficiency with inventory management systems (JDE experience preferred). Familiarity with Redzone or similar production/maintenance tracking platforms. Ability to read and interpret packing slips, purchase orders, and part documentation. Knowledge of 5S methodology and warehouse organization standards. Preferred Experience processing warranty claims and vendor returns. Understanding of
SDS/MSDS
requirements for chemical and lubricant storage. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and inventory tracking.
