Real Estate Associate Attorney Alves Law Group | New Bedford, Massachusetts Full-Time | Reports to Starlene Alves, Founder & Managing Attorney About Us Alves Law Group is a growing firm in New Bedford, Massachusetts, focused on real estate, estate planning, and business law. Founded by Starlene Alves, the firm is known for building close relationships with clients and for its commitment to serving the local community, including individuals and families who don't always have easy access to legal resources. We're a small, close-knit team that values clear communication, accountability, and finding people who are genuinely a good fit for how we work together. Position Summary We're looking for a seasoned Real Estate Associate Attorney to take ownership of a growing caseload of real estate transactions, from intake through closing. This role comes with real autonomy. You'll manage your own files, work closely with our paralegal and administrative staff, and play a key part in the practice's continued growth. Over time, there's room to grow into a larger leadership role within the real estate practice as the firm expands. Key Responsibilities Manage a full caseload of real estate transactions from opening through closing Review title examinations; resolve title issues as they arise Prepare, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, closing documents, and deeds Coordinate closings with clients, lenders, title companies, and real estate agents Oversee filing and recording of real estate documents, and manage related deadlines Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the transaction process Collaborate closely with the firm's paralegal and administrative team Track case status, deadlines, and client communications in MyCase Help maintain the firm's reputation for responsive, high-quality client service Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Active license to practice law in Massachusetts, in good standing 3-5+ years of experience in real estate law, with a strong background in closings and transactional work Solid working knowledge of closing procedures and real estate filings Excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfortable managing a caseload independently while staying closely coordinated with a small team Experience with case management software; MyCase experience a plus Licensed to practice law in Rhode Island a plus Fluency in Haitian Creole, French, Cape Verdean Creole, or Portuguese a plus A collaborative, low-ego approach On a team this size, personality fit matters as much as legal skill Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $90,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience Tiered compensation structure: a 90-day ramp-up period, followed by performance-based incentives Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off (PTO) How to Apply As part of our hiring process, candidates will complete a brief work product assessment: reviewing and revising a sample purchase and sale agreement.

$90,461.14 - $108,942.45 per year
