Job Responsibilities:
- Perform general garden maintenance tasks including weeding, mulching, pruning, deadheading, and raking.
- Assist with planting new trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals according to design specifications.
- Operate and maintain a variety of gardening tools and equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools, ensuring their proper use and care.
- Participate in irrigation system checks, adjustments, and basic repairs.
- Monitor plant health, identifying and reporting signs of pests, diseases, or nutritional deficiencies to the Crew Supervisor.
- Assist with soil preparation, fertilization, and amendment application.
- Support seasonal clean-up efforts, including fall leaf removal and spring garden preparation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tool sheds and designated garden areas.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in professional landscaping, gardening, or horticulture preferred
- Basic knowledge of plant identification, common garden pests, and diseases.
- Ability to operate basic landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for gardening.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
