Job Description

Position Summary The Legal Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to attorneys and other legal professionals with a focused area of Estate Planning and Administration. This position helps maintain organized case files, prepare and process legal documents, coordinate schedules and deadlines, communicate with clients, administrative bodies, and courts, and ensures the efficient operation of the legal practice. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare, format, proofread, and revise correspondence, pleadings, agreements, and other legal documents. File documents with state, and local courts, including through electronic filing systems. File documents with administrative bodies such as the Secretary of State. Maintain electronic and physical client and matter files in accordance with firm procedures. Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, depositions, hearings, and other appointments, and monitor applicable deadlines. Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare itineraries, as needed. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and other parties. Assist with opening and closing client matters, including conflict-check and records procedures. Process incoming and outgoing mail, email, and other correspondence. Prepare expense reports, assist with time-entry review, and support client billing processes. Provide general administrative support to attorneys and other members of the firm. Protect confidential and privileged information and comply with applicable ethical obligations and firm policies. Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
