Your home base is the door — checking IDs, managing entry, and setting the tone before guests ever step inside. When the floor needs backup, you step in. When it doesn't, you own the door. The best nights here are the ones where nothing escalates past a conversation, and that starts with who we put at the entrance. What you'll do Own the door — check IDs, manage entry flow, and be the first face guests see all night Maintain a welcoming, controlled entry — fast and accurate, no bottlenecks, no bad energy Step inside to assist the floor when called by management — de-escalate, handle removals, support the team Enforce capacity limits and venue policies with confidence and professionalism Communicate clearly with bar staff, servers, and management throughout the shift via radio Log incidents and complete security checks at open and close Stay sharp and high energy for a full late-night shift — the last hour looks the same as the first Must have 1+ year of door, bar, or event security experience Confident and accurate with ID checks — you don't get pressured and you don't get fooled Strong communication — with guests who don't get in and with teammates who need backup Physically fit, able to stand for a full late-night shift and move quickly when needed Reliable and punctual — every shift, every time 21+ with valid AZ ID • Arizona security guard license (or ability to obtain one) Strong plus CPR / First Aid certified Military or law enforcement background Bilingual (English / Spanish) Entertainment or live music venue experience Conflict de-escalation training This role is not for you if Standing at a door all night with no engagement sounds boring — you bring presence and personality to every interaction You go straight to confrontation — de-escalation is your first move, always A loud, high-energy crowd for 5+ hours sounds draining rather than motivating
