Retail Job Summary:

Generates sales of all retail merchandise and housekeeping, provides general information to guests, and safeguards the assets of the Gaming Enterprise Division (GED) while providing outstanding guest service. Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to): Welcomes and greets all guests; ensures they receive outstanding service by maintaining a professional level of communication as well as demonstrating solid product knowledge at, all times.

Responsible for operating cash register, credit card machine, and POS system Interacts with guests, assists in locating merchandise, gives product presentations, and convinces them to make purchases.

Informs supervisor of special guest requests. Processes credit card and cash transactions and bags merchandise. Assures accuracy of sales data and cash handling, including balancing of assigned bank.

Redeems player tier reward points, vouchers, SOL bucks, and receipts for products.

Responsible for receiving and checking-in warehouse products.

Sells gift cards, and e-tickets to concert/events.

Produces end of shift reports. Exhibits results-oriented behavior by resolving problems and anticipating needs.

Addresses issues in a pleasant and professional manner and keeps the supervisor informed; refers situations that are difficult to resolve to a supervisor.

Passes all retail sales goals successfully. Maintains the proper display of goods on the floor and checks the merchandise to ensure it complies with quality standards.

Responsible for the overall retail shop appearance including merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping. Assists in processing and replenishing merchandise as well as monitoring floor stock. Assists in completing price changes within the retail outlets. Participates in monthly inventory and cycle counts.

Maintains an awareness of all promotions and advertisements.

Notifies supervisor if equipment is broken and needs repair or replacement. Maintains cleanliness of store areas throughout the shift practicing clean-as-you-go procedures. Displays a diplomatic, polished, and professional demeanor in the workplace. Ensures uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional.

Fosters a team environment by working collaboratively with co-workers.

Displays initiative and ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision.

Participates in professional development activities such as sales trainings. Maintains an awareness of current trends in the retail industry with a focus on product development. Acts as a resource for GED policies, programs, services, and activities. Attends departmental and GED meetings as required.

Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information; protects GED assets.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Essential functions of the position:

Ability to lift and move twenty (20) or more pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Must be able to tolerate high noise levels in the work environment, smoking areas, with flashing lights and large crowds.

Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate with all guests and team members in a positive and professional manner.

Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time.

Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, stoop, squat, and reach.

Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of service industry standards for full service and upscale luxury hotels. Knowledge of merchandising and suggestive selling.

Knowledge of departmental and GED policies, standards, and procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations.

Knowledge of all retail inventory to price, discount or recommend of exchanges or final sales.

Organizational and time management skills.

Skill in working courteously with guests as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.

Ability to meet assigned goals.

Ability to perform mathematical computations pertaining to the position, including the ability to accurately handle and count money as well as make change.

Ability to operate all equipment needed for the position, including standard office equipment such as a multi-line telephone & computer.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to maintain confidentiality with all sale information.

Minimum Qualifications:

Proficiency with cash registers, calculators, currency transactions, and point of sale systems.

Demonstrated track-record of providing excellent guest service.

Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime as needed.

Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening in accordance with company policy.

Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.

Must be able to obtain, and retain a valid gaming license/background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

High school or General Equivalency Diploma.

Six (6) months of money handling experience in guest service position. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
