About Vulcan Tactical Vulcan Tactical is a new firearms retailer preparing to open in Foothill Ranch, California , specializing in new and pre-owned firearms, consignments, parts and accessories, with a focus on performance-oriented and specialized products. We are building our opening team and are seeking a knowledgeable, customer-service-oriented Full-Time Firearms Sales Associate . This position will begin prior to the store opening and will include training, store setup, inventory preparation, merchandising, and other opening activities. Store opening date is to be announced. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in firearms, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to continually expand their product and industry knowledge. Prior firearms retail experience is preferred but is not required for the right candidate. Responsibilities Provide professional, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service. Identify customer needs and assist customers in selecting firearms, optics, ammunition, parts, and accessories based on their intended use, preferences, and budget. Maintain a high level of firearm safety at all times and follow all applicable federal and California firearms regulations and company compliance procedures. Complete firearms transactions, including ATF Form 4473, DROS, and related documentation, independently after completing required training and receiving company authorization. Operate the POS system, process customer transactions, and handle customer and special orders. Assist with receiving inventory, stocking, merchandising, product displays, and inventory counts. Assist with pre-owned firearm and consignment intake, documentation, merchandising, and customer communication. Final firearm valuation and pricing are subject to Manager or Owner approval. Respond professionally to customer inquiries by phone, email, and online channels. Assist with opening and closing procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and professional sales floor and gun counter. Continually develop knowledge of firearms, optics, accessories, ammunition, and other products carried by Vulcan Tactical. Participate in product, compliance, and company training as required. Follow all company policies and procedures and demonstrate a constant awareness of firearm safety. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Fluent in English required; bilingual is a plus. Solid foundational knowledge of firearms, ammunition, hunting, optics, and related accessories is preferred. Strong interest in continuing to develop firearms and product knowledge. Prior firearms retail or firearms transaction experience preferred, but not required. Prior retail sales, customer service, or cash-handling experience preferred. Working knowledge of federal and California firearms laws and regulations preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid California Certificate of Eligibility (COE). Legally eligible to work in a firearms environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently follow compliance procedures. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service-oriented mindset. Basic computer and POS proficiency with the ability to learn new software systems. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment. Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to take initiative in day-to-day store operations. Neat and professional appearance. Basic gunsmithing, firearm assembly, or optics mounting experience is a plus. Telephone customer service, email support, or social media experience is a plus. Schedule Ability to work assigned schedules which may include varied hours, opening and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may be required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a scheduled shift. Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform routine retail and inventory-related tasks. Ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance . Ability to safely handle firearms.
