401(k) Bonus based on performance Competitive salary Employee discounts Free uniforms Job Overview We are an independent, local mail, shipping, and print center in Oakland seeking a multi-talented Digital Print Specialist & Retail Store Associate to join our small team. Your primary responsibility will be managing our digital print production workflow, performing pre-press layouts, and operating our high-end digital color press. When you are not running production jobs, you will work collaboratively alongside our team to handle daily retail store logistics, package intake, and front-counter customer service. The ideal candidate is an adaptable multitasker who enjoys technical production as much as customer interaction.Key Responsibilities Print Production & Layout:
Operate and maintain our Canon imagePRESS Lite C165 production color copier and Konica Minolta bizhub printer.Pre-Press Workflows:
Utilize EFI Fiery Command WorkStation to load, queue, impose, and manage client PDF jobs. Check file margins, resolutions, and text bleed lines before printing.Media Management:
Manually configure custom paper-weight and media profiles (up to 350 gsm) on the machines, ensuring correct bypass tray staging.Post-Press Finishing:
Perform basic manual finishing tasks including stack cutting, heavy-duty stapling, manual comb/coil binding, and booklet folding.Shipping Logistics:
Greet walk-in clients warmly, process drop-off shipping packages for major carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS), and operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) register.Safe Fulfillment & Packing:
Professionally pack and reinforce customer parcels using appropriate boxes, bubble wrap, and structural materials to ensure safe transit. Qualifications & Requirements 1-2 years of hands-on experience in a print-and-ship or commercial copy center environment preferred (experience with digital front ends/Fiery servers is a major plus). Demonstrate extreme attention to detail and precision in a fast-paced work environment. Technical comfort handling digital file conversions, scaling dimensions, and analyzing pre-press layout borders. Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly, proactive approach to counter customer service. Proven multitasking skills; ability to safely pause a digital printing queue to assist lobby counter line clusters during high-traffic windows. Physical capability to stand for long periods and safely lift heavy boxes or paper crates weighing up to 50 lbs.Benefits
