Estes Park Mountain Shop is a specialty outdoor retailer located in Estes Park, Colorado, the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Since 1986, we have offered equipment, apparel, rentals and instruction for outdoor recreation and activities. We have an immediate need in our Estes Park store for a Retail Sales Associate to engage with customers, facilitate in sales, and share product knowledge. As a Retail Sales Associate, responsibilities include greeting and receiving customers in a welcoming manner, responding to customers' questions, and directing customers by escorting them to racks and counters. Other responsibilities include processing credit and cash transactions, assisting in equipment rentals, as-well-as perform cleaning and stocking tasks and maintaining the sales floor appearance.
Responsibilities:
Greet guests as they enter the shop, ask whether they would like assistance with anything and provide help if needed in a friendly, hospitable and efficient manner Remain knowledgeable about and answer questions related to merchandise, sales, and store policy Provide recommendations based on customer's stated preferences, needs and desires Create an inviting atmosphere for guests in accordance with the vision of the store by acting in a welcoming and approachable manner during customer interactions Operate a cash register and perform related tasks, including cash handling, credit card processing and opening and closing of the register when on the first or last shift of the day Straighten, arrange, stock and dust off merchandise, maintain shelving areas as directed by management and participate in the designing of displays Locate merchandise for customers, placing special orders to find desired items if necessary Handle refunds, returns and exchanges with a focus on timeliness and customer service
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Previous retail experience a plus Friendly, outgoing demeanor with a strong commitment to customer service Ability to express oneself clearly Calm, professional demeanor even when confronted by discourteous customers Enjoy a friendly, fast-paced and ever-changing work environment
Work Hours:
This position consists 10-hour shifts between the hours of 8 am -8 pm.
