We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Wine Department Associate to join our retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, offering expert guidance on wine selections, and maintaining the organization and presentation of the wine department. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, retail sales experience, and a passion for wine and beverage products. This position offers an engaging environment where your enthusiasm and product knowledge can enhance the shopping experience for our customers. Duties Assist customers in selecting wines by providing detailed product information, tasting notes, and pairing suggestions. Operate the cash register efficiently, handling retail sales transactions with accuracy and professionalism. Provide excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone inquiries or placing special orders. Support store merchandising efforts by arranging displays that highlight featured wines and promotions. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of store policies regarding POS (Point of Sale) systems, sales procedures, and safety protocols. Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis Qualifications Prior experience in retail sales, preferably within a wine or beverage department; supervisory experience is a plus. Wine knowledge is a plus but not necessary- the love of wine and drive to learn is far more important. The entire staff is here to help. Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette. Experience in stocking and merchandising. Retail store product knowledge related to wines, spirits, or similar products. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to educate customers about products through demos or conversations.
