Sales Associate

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, affable, and trustworthy person to fill this position. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact at a top wine destination with a flexible schedule and potential for growth. We believe strongly in developing talent from within, so you will be supported fully in your desire to learn about the fine wine world including constant tastings and reimbursement for any certification exams. The position is hourly to start, with the goal of moving to a salaried, long-term position, and commensurate with experience and fit. We offer a comprehensive benefits package to all full-time employees and a best-in-industry Paid Time Off policy. Job Description The Sales Associate is a hospitality-driven team member. The Sales Associate works with customers in the store and over the phone to successfully close sales and foster deeper relationships. Our approach to sales is driven by our backgrounds in hospitality - customer-centric and egoless. We look for someone eager to develop and perfect that style. They help maintain a well-stocked store and participate in all store activities during their shifts. This position's direct report is to the General Manager and works day-to-day to support the Sales Director. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Work in the store including opening and closing responsibilities Deliver top notch hospitality to customers in the store - recommend products, facilitate tastings, pack, and gift wrap Support the Sales Director with inventory analysis, maintaining the opportunities pipeline, and assisting in many other sales initiatives Answer phones, take and fulfill orders, monitor online orders Attend tastings, take notes, and provide relevant feedback Stock shelves, receive supplier deliveries, and other general inventory maintenance Occasional deliveries in and around the Greenwich area Desired Skills and Qualifications The ideal candidate possesses the following skills, abilities, and qualifications: Comfort with the basics of wine regions, winemaking, and luxury sales. Wine, spirits, or hospitality experience is a plus but not a must — we're glad to train the right person, and we care more about curiosity, work ethic, and hospitality than a finished résumé Prior retail experience in the Fairfield / Westchester / NYC area A good sense of humor, low ego, and genuine enthusiasm for being part of a small, tight knit team that works hard and doesn't take itself too seriously Clean driving record and valid driver's license Ability to carry up to 40 lbs up and down a flight of stairs Must be able to work Saturdays
