If you enjoy working in a beautiful community centered environment and have retail experience this might be the part-time job for you. We seek an outgoing, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a retail setting with a mission. The Store Associate will become well-versed in Store Merchandise and the artist and makers represented in the Store and be trained to communicate information about Museum programs, tours, and events to visitors. Spending most of their time on the sales floor, the Store Associate will prioritize a visitor-first focus by actively engaging customers in the store. This position assists visitors, performs sales transactions, performs house-keeping tasks, fills in merchandise from back stock, and participates in inventory counts. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: A variety of daily tasks: Engage visitors and make product recommendations, answer phone requests about inventory in the shop, exhibit confidence in selling merchandise displayed on the sales floor. Assist in maintaining the sales floor by cleaning, straightening, organizing, and restocking merchandise throughout the day and at end of shift. Fill in merchandise to support the themes and narratives present in the store. Open and/or close the store, process purchases and returns by accurately processing sales according to Museum procedures. Take an active role in becoming knowledgeable in the reproduction of prints, stationery, books and gift categories by being curious and taking part in ongoing training about the inventory. Exemplify professional and ethical behaviors; follow all Museum policies and procedures.
