We're looking for a friendly, energetic, and dependable Retail Store Associate to join our team at our international halal grocery store. We specialize in Indian, Pakistani, Middle Eastern, and other international foods , along with a full halal meat department . As a Retail Store Associate, you will be an important part of creating a welcoming shopping experience for our customers. You'll help customers find products, answer questions, operate the register, stock and organize merchandise, and help keep the store clean and running smoothly. This is a fast-paced environment where you'll interact with customers from many different backgrounds. Duties & Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, helpful service. Assist customers in finding Indian, Pakistani, Middle Eastern, halal, and international grocery products . Answer customer questions about products, ingredients, brands, and availability. Operate the POS/cash register accurately and handle cash and other forms of payment responsibly. Assist customers with purchases from the halal meat department , including answering basic questions about available cuts and products. Stock shelves, coolers, freezers, and displays while keeping products organized and properly rotated. Check product dates and follow proper FIFO (first-in, first-out) procedures. Receive and organize incoming merchandise and assist with putting deliveries away. Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock, damaged, expired, or missing products to management. Maintain attractive and organized product displays and help with merchandising and promotional displays. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including aisles, shelves, checkout areas, coolers, and other customer areas. Follow all store policies and applicable food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures . Answer store phones professionally and assist customers with questions, product availability, and general inquiries. Help with other store duties as needed to ensure smooth daily operations. Provide a welcoming and respectful experience to customers from diverse cultural backgrounds. Qualifications Previous retail, grocery store, supermarket, or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Grocery store or international/halal food experience is a plus. Ability to operate a POS system and handle cash transactions accurately. Strong customer service and communication skills. Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced retail environment.
