Duties Greet customers warmly and identify their optical needs through active listening and consultation Assist with spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fittings, and frame adjustments to ensure optimal comfort and style Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for sales transactions and manage cash register operations responsibly Support laboratory processes related to optical fabrication to ensure quality standards are met Maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) policies and clinical confidentiality policies Educate customers on eyewear options, including frames, lenses, and contact lenses, using medical terminology when appropriate Ensure compliance with state healthcare regulations and clinic policies during all patient interactions Skills Knowledge of ophthalmology, optics, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to eye care Experience with optical laboratory procedures, spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fittings, and frame adjustments Familiarity with Compulink EMR/EHR (Electronic Medical Records/Electronic Health Records) systems Retail sales experience combined with excellent customer service skills to create a welcoming environment Ability to perform basic math calculations for retail transactions and optical measurements Knowledge of health regulation policies including HIPAA, and clinic safety protocols Proficiency in POS systems and cash register operations for smooth transaction processing This role offers a unique opportunity to blend retail expertise with clinical support in a vibrant healthcare environment.
