Canyon Falls Farm is seeking an experienced Mechanic Lead to join our farm shop team!
Summary:
The Mechanic Lead directs daily maintenance operations, coordinating work, ensuring quality, and developing team capability while remaining hands-on.
Responsibilities:
Plan, assign, and prioritize daily work based on operational needs. Monitor progress and adjust workloads to reduce downtime. Ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of repairs. Provide hands-on support for complex diagnostics and repairs. Enforce standard troubleshooting and repair practices. Train, coach, and develop Mechanic I-III team members. Provide input on performance, skill gaps, and development plans. Coordinate with supervisors on priorities and equipment status. Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance tracking. Support parts/inventory coordination. Enforce and promote safety culture and compliance. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred. 5+ years of experience including advanced-level work, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience Advanced technical expertise across systems. Strong planning, communication, and organizational skills. Valid driver's license. First Aid and CPR card. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Position is based on regular farm / ranch schedule of 40-60 hours per week. Frequently work in outdoor agricultural environments with exposure to varying temperatures, sunlight, wind, and changing weather conditions. Occasional work on uneven, muddy, slippery, or elevated surfaces, with potential exposure to vibration or electrical hazards. May come into contact with chemical substances, including fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and fuels, in accordance with safety procedures and training. Noise levels may range from moderate to loud, depending on equipment operation and task being performed. Work hours may vary due to operational needs and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, extended shifts, or seasonal demands. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection, and respirators, will be provided as required by law and company policy.
