Job Description

Optical & Office Team Member Private Optometry Practice | Training Provided We are a small, friendly private optometry practice looking for a dependable, personable, and motivated Optical & Office Team Member to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, learning new skills, and being part of a small team where everyone contributes. Prior optometry or optical experience is welcome, but absolutely not required. We are happy to train the right person from the ground up. What You'll Do Your initial responsibilities will focus primarily on helping our front office run smoothly, including: Greeting patients and providing friendly, professional customer service Answering phones and assisting patients with questions Scheduling and confirming appointments Checking patients in and out Handling general office tasks and paperwork Keeping the office clean, organized, and welcoming Helping maintain displays, supplies, and the general appearance of the office Assisting the rest of the team wherever needed As you become comfortable with the office and our patients, we would like to train and develop you into additional areas of the practice , which may include: Helping patients select eyeglass frames and learning optical sales Learning about lenses, lens options, and eyewear Learning how to perform basic lens cutting and finishing Learning pre-testing and other technician responsibilities before the doctor examines the patient Developing a broader understanding of how an optometry practice operates Who We're Looking For We are more interested in finding the right person than someone with a specific background. You may be a great fit if you are: Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with people Dependable and responsible Detail-oriented and organized Comfortable learning new technology and computer systems A good communicator Comfortable helping customers and answering questions Willing to learn and take on new responsibilities Mechanically inclined or enjoy working with your hands Interested in developing new skills and growing with a small business A team player who is willing to help wherever needed No previous optometry, optical, or medical-office experience is necessary. Customer service, retail, office, hospitality, or other work experience can be valuable, but we are willing to train someone who is motivated, dependable, and eager to learn. Why Join Us? We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the practice and gradually take on more responsibility . The goal is for the right person to develop from an office/front-desk team member into a well-rounded member of our optical and clinical team.

Pay:

$20
