The Sales Consultant is expected to provide an exceptional customer experience, build long-term relationships, maintain accurate customer information, and consistently achieve individual sales and performance objectives. The Sales Consultant represents Toyota of Dartmouth and the Toyota brand with professionalism, integrity, product knowledge, and a customer-first approach.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Customer Experience & Sales Process Greet and engage every customer promptly and professionally. Follow the dealership's established sales process on every customer opportunity. Determine customer needs through effective questioning and active listening. Present appropriate new and used vehicle options based on customer needs. Conduct professional vehicle demonstrations and test drives. Explain vehicle features, benefits, technology, safety systems, warranties, and Toyota Care. Present pricing and payment options accurately. Work with management to structure and close deals. Maintain control of the sales process while providing a positive customer experience. Properly introduce customers to the F&I department after the sale. Ensure every delivered vehicle is clean, properly equipped, and ready for the customer. 2. Internet & Phone Leads Respond to Internet and phone leads promptly according to dealership standards. Make outbound calls, texts, and emails to customers. Maintain consistent follow-up until the customer purchases, opts out, or is otherwise dispositioned. Schedule appointments and work to maximize appointment show rates. Document all customer activity properly in the CRM. Respond professionally to leads generated from Toyota, dealership advertising, third-party websites, and other sources. 3. Prospecting & Customer Retention Sales Consultants are expected to generate business in addition to waiting for showroom traffic.
Responsibilities include:
Daily outbound prospecting. Follow-up with unsold showroom customers. Follow-up with previous customers. Lease maturity and equity-mining follow-up. Service-lane customer prospecting when assigned. Referral generation. Personal customer database development. Social media and digital prospecting when appropriate. Re-engagement of inactive CRM customers. 4. Product Knowledge Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding: Toyota vehicle lineup. New model introductions. Toyota Safety Sense. Hybrid and electrified vehicles. Toyota Care. Toyota warranties. Toyota financing and lease programs. Current incentives and programs. Used vehicle inventory. Competitive vehicles. Sales Consultants are expected to continuously improve their product knowledge and confidently demonstrate Toyota's value proposition without making inaccurate or misleading claims about competitors. 5. CRM Responsibilities The CRM must accurately reflect every customer's status Sales Consultants are responsible for: Entering all new prospects. Recording calls, texts, emails, appointments, and showroom visits. Updating customer information. Documenting customer needs and vehicle preferences properly. Maintaining accurate appointment status. Completing required follow-up tasks. Properly dispositioning customers. Maintaining an organized personal pipeline. Following dealership CRM procedures. If it isn't documented in the CRM, it didn't happen. 6. Dealership & Inventory Responsibilities Maintain knowledge of current inventory. Know where vehicles are located. Monitor incoming inventory. Understand vehicle availability and specifications. Keep demonstration vehicles clean and presentable. Maintain professional appearance of the showroom and sales area. Assist with lot organization when requested. Protect dealership property and customer vehicles. Follow all dealership security and key-control procedures. 7. Dealership Policies & Compliance Sales Consultants must comply with all dealership policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Following credit and finance procedures. Protecting customer privacy. Properly handling trade-in information. Following all required documentation procedures. Never making unauthorized promises regarding pricing, payments, equipment, delivery, repairs, or vehicle availability.
