Job Description
Shelter Support Staff Full-Time and Per-Diem position available Wednesday to Sunday 3-11pm Willing to Train Find Meaning in Your Work....Help the Community by Giving Back to Those in Need Consider making an impact every day providing support to those who need shelter. We are a group of only 125 dedicated people, committed to improving the quality of life for those in need. Our Shelter Support Staff will be joining our amazing Shelter Support team led by our experienced Shelter Manager. Our Shelter Support Staff are vital to the operation of our homeless shelters, by:
- Monitoring shelter safety and well-being of the guests while on shift
- Performing administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, greeting guests and visitors, and responding to emergency situations quickly and appropriately
- Always maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Ensuring the rules of the facility are being followed
- Complete guest intakes on any new guests entering the shelter during shift coverage
- Assessing any crisis and determining guest needs
- Offering guests appropriate information and respond to their questions
- Provide guests with personal hygiene products, emergency clothing as requested
- Record shift activities and guest information in the shelter log
- Report maintenance requests for repairs to the Supervisor as the need arises
