Beltsville Construction Supply is looking for a Part-Time Counter Sales / Customer Service person to join our team. We are a local, woman-owned business that has been serving our customers for over 50 years . This is a hands-on position in a busy construction supply environment. We are looking for someone who is dynamic, engaged, dependable, and genuinely enjoys helping people . Our customers count on us to know our products, solve problems, and get them what they need. We are looking for someone who wants to learn our industry and become a valuable part of that customer experience. This is NOT a "punch-the-clock" job. We want someone who takes pride in their work, sees what needs to be done, takes initiative, and understands that taking care of our customers is the most important part of the job. Responsibilities Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful customer service at the sales counter Learn about our products, industry, and customers Answer phones and take customer orders Enter and process sales through our Point-of-Sale system Pull and prepare customer orders Help customers locate products and answer basic product questions Load customer vehicles safely and assist with unloading incoming trucks Operate a forklift after proper training Help maintain a clean, organized, and well-presented counter and showroom Help keep merchandise organized and properly stocked Work as part of a team to make sure customers get what they need Take initiative to help wherever needed during busy periods What We're Looking For Excellent customer service skills and a genuine desire to help people Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking with customers Self-starter who doesn't need to be told what to do every minute of the day Willingness and desire to learn the utility supply industry Dependable, responsible, and punctual Comfortable working in a busy, hands-on environment Able to work independently while also being a team player Good communication and organizational skills Basic computer skills and ability to learn our Point-of-Sale system Ability to regularly lift and carry 50-80 lbs Comfortable working around construction materials and in a warehouse/showroom environment Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle required Spanish-speaking is a major plus Schedule Part-Time 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM Early mornings are an important part of our business, so reliable and consistent attendance is essential.
