Responsibilities Operate the cash register efficiently, handling all retail sales transactions with accuracy and speed using POS (Point of Sale) systems. Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries, offering product demos, and guiding them through their purchase decisions. Upsell products and promote store promotions to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a positive shopping experience. Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is well-presented and replenished throughout your shift. Maintain proper cash handling procedures, including cash drawer balancing and accurate cash register operations. Demonstrate strong communication skills by engaging customers politely and professionally via in-person interactions and phone etiquette. Assist with merchandising efforts to create attractive displays that highlight store products and promotions. Qualifications Previous retail sales experience or grocery store experience is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn! Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math for accurate transactions. Supervising experience is a plus, especially in overseeing team members or managing customer flow during busy periods. Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening, are essential for providing outstanding customer service. Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for cash handling and sales processing. Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and stock management will help you succeed in this role.
