Centerless Grinding Department Lead Diag Partners - 3.9 Minneapolis, MN Job Details Full-time $31 - $37 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Manufacturing management High school diploma or GED Manufacturing facility experience Production planning Quality improvement Full Job Description The Centerless Grinding Department Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the centerless grinding department. This role involves supervising a team of mechanics, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing workflow. The Department Lead will work closely with other departments to meet production goals and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities Supervision and Leadership Lead, train, and mentor a team of centerless grinding technicians and operators. Allocate resources effectively. Have input in performance evaluations and provide feedback to the CG Manager. Support the centerless grinding operations to ensure production targets are met. Monitor and adjust machine settings to optimize performance and achieve desired tolerances. Coordinate with production planning to ensure timely completion of orders. Quality Control Ensure grinding services meet customer quality specifications and compliance standards by following the
MMT ISO 13485
Quality System. Work as a team to address and resolve any quality issues or defects promptly. Machine Maintenance Assist with scheduling routine maintenance and repairs for centerless grinding machines. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime. Ensure machines are kept in optimal working condition. Oversee the inventory of essential tools, processing aids, and grinding machine supplies, and work with the CG Manager to order and maintain stock levels. Process Improvement Enhance efficiency and productivity by identifying opportunities for process improvements. Safety and Compliance Practice and ensure a safe Centerless Grinding working environment by complying with company policies and industry regulations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of production activities, machine maintenance, and quality control per MMT's policies and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining or a related field preferred. Proven experience in centerless grinding operations, with a strong understanding of grinding machines and techniques. Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards related to machining operations. Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as required. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and other elements. Working Conditions The position is based in a manufacturing facility with typical shop conditions. May require occasional overtime or weekend work to meet production deadlines.
Pay:
$31.00 - $37.00 per hour
