Duties Greet and assist customers with eyewear selections, fittings, and adjustments, ensuring optimal comfort and style. Dispense spectacle lenses accurately, utilizing the experience taught on the job and knowledge of optics to meet patient prescriptions. Manage POS systems and cash operations efficiently during sales transactions. Oversee daily store operations as a key holder, including opening/closing procedures, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA, medical records, and clinic policies. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries related to ophthalmology, medical terminology, and health regulation policies. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling EMR/EHR systems like Epic or other EMR systems for accurate medical coding and record keeping. Skills Experience in retail sales within an optical or healthcare setting (a plus not required); familiarity with eyewear fittings and spectacle lens dispensing preferred. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate information clearly and professionally. Understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical billing processes, medical coding, and state healthcare regulations to ensure compliance at all times. Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions, prescriptions calculations, and inventory management.
