Job Description
Job Description The ReStore Sales Associate assists the ReStore Manager in certain administrative and operational functions of the Habitat NYC and Westchester ReStore. The sales associate assists the manager in achieving operational, financial, administrative, volunteer and customer goals. Flexible hours during the week; must work Saturdays. The ReStore is a fun work environment with many opportunities to learn new skills in marketing, sales, product research, leading volunteers and community engagement. Responsibilities Opening and closing of the Habitat ReStore for scheduled daily hours Operating cash register POS system Carryout general store operations and lead volunteer management Daily sales/cash register reconciliation Train new volunteers or assign a volunteer staff member to train the new volunteers Overseeing display and organization of showroom sales areas to ensure all items are properly priced and ticketed for sale Overseeing and maintaining daily Safety Checklists and records Ensuring accurate Charitable Donation Tax Receipts of donors Assist with donation pick-ups on our truck as needed. This entails working with a fellow staff member in safely transporting merchandise from donor's homes and/or businesses. This may include driving occasionally Achieving excellent customer, donor and volunteer ratings Qualifications Knowledge of NYC "Commercial Vehicle Restrictions" of certain roadways Must pass a criminal background check and DMV check Must have a valid NY State driver's license and a clean driving record Experience as a Driver of Commercial vehicles in New York City a plus Ability to speak Spanish a plus Retail sales, thrift experience preferred, volunteer supervision experience preferred Cash register /
POS Physical Demands:
Required to lift 75 pounds regularly / required to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally Will experience frequent lifting, bending, squatting, and repetitive motion Ability to spend majority of the day standing & moving heavy items This position will occasionally be exposed to extremes in weather (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, etc.).
