Job Description

JOB TITLE
: Blue Whale Sales Associate
DEPARTMENT

Non-exempt, Part Time
JOB SUMMARY
: Under the Director of Visitor Services and the Assistant City Manager's supervision, provides exceptional customer service to guests; keeps a well-kept and clean environment for guests to enjoy; and stocks merchandise on a daily basis. This non-exempt position includes evening and weekend hours. The shift schedule will be subject to change as required by the needs of the organization and will include weekends, holidays, and evenings.
MAJOR DUTIES
: 1. Works on the sales floor and cash register as needed. 2. Create Visual Displays of gift shop items and holiday décor as necessary. 3. Keeps supplies stocked (bags, clothes, postcards, etc.). 4. Establishes, models, and implements customer service protocols. 5. Performs sales transactions, both cash and credit, assisting the customer with item selections, bagging, wrapping, and payment. 6. Answer questions about the Blue Whale, Route 66, and the Catoosa area. 7. Assists with and performs office functions such as data entry, clerical support, and office coordination. 8. Help maintain a neat and clean appearance of the Gift Shop and Visitor Center. 9. Assists with monthly and annual Inventory procedures. 10. Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Knowledge of customer service practices. 2. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. 3. Must demonstrate a proficient level of knowledge in Cell Phone and Computer equipment. 4. Must have the ability to interpret and apply City and Departmental policies and procedures, as necessary. 5. Must have the ability to prepare, maintain, and process a wide variety of documents and databases. 6. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department, directors, co-workers, and the public. 7. Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) 2. Valid Oklahoma Class "D" Driver License 3. Must pass a background check. 4. Must pass a drug screening.
Pay:
$12.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 25.0 per week
