Summary The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement outlet that accepts donated new and used building materials, furniture, appliances, lighting fixtures, and other home goods. These items are sold to raise funds for Habitat homebuilding projects while diverting reusable materials from landfills. We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and customer-service-oriented team member to join our Rogue Valley ReStore team. This is a hands-on position that supports many areas of ReStore operations including customer service, donation processing, merchandising, cashiering, loading, and general store support. ReStore team members work across multiple areas of store operations and should be comfortable adapting to changing daily priorities in a fast-paced retail and warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities

Customer & Donor Engagement:

Provide friendly and helpful service to customers; assist with locating, measuring, and loading purchases. Greet donors, inspect donations, and evaluate donated items based on ReStore acceptance guidelines and overall salability.

Merchandising & Processing:

Clean, price, and place donated items on the sales floor. Assist in organizing and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.

Operations & Cash Handling:

Operate cash register and process transactions (cash, check, credit card) accurately and securely. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, cleaning, and securing the facility. Answer phone calls and provide information regarding ReStore operations.

Logistics & Material Handling:

Load and unload donated goods using equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts. Assist with donation pickups using Habitat for Humanity vehicles when assigned and qualified to drive.

Leadership & Safety:

Train, supervise, and support volunteers and community service workers to ensure a meaningful experience. Follow and enforce safety procedures for staff, customers, and volunteers.

Teamwork:

Communicate effectively using phone, email, and 2-way radios. Adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment, serve as a positive brand ambassador, and perform all other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications & Skills Driver's License & Driving Eligibility —

REQUIRED

Current and valid driver's license is required. Applicant must be legally authorized to operate a motor vehicle. Background Check & Drug Screening —

REQUIRED

Successful completion of a criminal background check is mandatory as a condition of employment. Criminal convictions determined to be relevant to the duties, safety, security, trust, driving responsibilities, cash handling, property handling, or other legitimate business requirements of this position may disqualify an applicant from employment. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening is mandatory as a condition of employment. Experience Retail, warehouse, donation center, customer service, or similar experience preferred. Knowledge of building materials, tools, furniture, appliances, or home improvement products is a plus. Physical Ability Ability to safely lift, move, carry, and load items weighing 50 pounds or more on a regular basis , with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to safely perform repetitive lifting and physically demanding warehouse and retail work. Communication Ability to communicate effectively in English with customers, donors, volunteers, coworkers, and supervisors. Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus. Technical Skills Basic computer literacy. Familiarity with email and common computer applications. Ability to learn ReStore point-of-sale and inventory-related systems. Interpersonal Skills Strong customer-service skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of volunteers, donors, customers, and staff. Dependable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively. Professional appearance and conduct. Ability to follow instructions, policies, and established safety procedures. Work Environment / Physical Demands This position operates in a warehouse retail environment with both indoor and outdoor work. It is physically demanding, requiring frequent lifting, loading, and use of equipment. Standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, and climbing ladders are part of daily activities. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and frequent customer interaction throughout the workday.

Schedule:

May include weekdays, Saturdays, evenings, and occasional schedule adjustments based on operational needs. Compensation and Benefits

Starting Pay:

$17.00 / hour
