Rapid City, SD Job Summary:
Assist in day to day programs and functions of the ice arena facilities, including rink guards, as well as game operations at junior hockey events.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor guests in the ice rink and surrounding areas. Educate guests on and enforce ice rink safety regulations and department policies and procedures to prevent accidents and maintain order. Responds to emergency situations and assists skaters in distress utilizing established rescue techniques up to and including First Aid/CPR and AED. Enforce evacuation procedures as necessary due to medical or weather emergencies on the ice. Provides friendly and useful customer service to patrons by phone or in person. Will check in and check out skates and follow safety protocols. Receives payment for ice rink merchandise and enters payments into cash registers, making correct change when necessary. Operates standard office equipment common to an administrative environment. Performs custodial duties including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, and wiping counters and equipment. Performs any other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
- Must be age 14 years or older.
- Must be able to skate well.
- Previous cash handling and customer service experience preferred, but training available.
Work Environment:
This position will work primarily indoors on and around the ice rink, in the skate room, or at stations within the arena. May need to lift objects up to 40 lbs. The climate will range from cold to room temperature.Career Insights for Greeter
