About the Role At Glo Tanning, the Store Leader is the driving force behind the salon's day-to-day success. This hands-on leadership role is built around driving sales results, building a strong team culture, and coaching a high-performing staff. As our Store Leader, you'll lead from the front — setting the standard for every shift, every client interaction, and every team member — while living out our core values and developing the people around you. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Support recruiting and onboarding new team members Lead by example across all areas of salon operations Step in to support sales and coaching during shift overlaps Identify missed opportunities and coach team members in real time Set goals for staff on shift and track performance throughout the day Recognize and celebrate high performers, and address low performers proactively Maintain clear, positive communication in and outside the salon Client Experience & Training Ensure consistency in our client experience Conduct on-going training sessions with staff Perform and document weekly mock client interactions Provide ongoing feedback, roleplay practice, and coaching to elevate team performance Foster a store culture where every team member feels included and valued Operational Excellence Complete and post Weekly Mock Audits, reviewing areas of strength and improvement Proactively address cleanliness and other salon standards Keep the salon prepared to pass Official Salon Audits Handling of escalated customer issues Inventory & Supply Management Monitor product usage and inventory levels to avoid running short on client-facing supplies Reorder supplies proactively so the salon stays fully stocked Work with vendors to help manage costs and protect profit margins Store & Business Management Develop and execute a Weekly Plan of Action Conduct Weekly Salon Audits Complete Bi-Weekly Progress Reports and hold regular 1:1 meetings with employees Host Monthly Salon Meetings Document employee feedback and maintain employee files Marketing & Community Engagement Help drive visibility through seasonal promotions and partnerships with local businesses Support social media efforts that showcase the salon, its team, and its results Encourage participation in loyalty and rewards programs to build repeat business Performance Expectations Success in this role is measurable. Store Managers are expected to meet monthly performance goals tied to product and membership sales, including: Personal goals: individual sales targets set monthly Store goals: store-wide sales targets that the Store Manager is responsible for driving through their team Experience & Qualifications Relevant experience: 2-3 years of previous work experience as a cosmetologist, hairdresser, or tanning salon is typically required for success in this role Preferred background: previous experience as a shift supervisor is a strong plus, given the hands-on management experience it provides Also valued: experience as a trainer, which transfers well to coaching and developing a team
Education:
a college education is preferred, but not required Management/sales experience: required, in addition to relevant salon experience Skills & Abilities Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities at once Strong knowledge of client service techniques and day-to-day operational practices Strong problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor a team and a solid understanding of supervisory practices Team-building skills Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively What We're Looking For Reliable attendance — no call-outs, consistently early or on time Open, flexible availability A clean sales-audit record and strong attention to detail Professional appearance and consistent uniform compliance Integrity — doing the right thing, even when no one's watching A coachable mindset that welcomes feedback and applies it Genuine care for clients and teammates alike A goal-oriented drive toward growth and achievement A team-first attitude and a track record of strong working relationships A history of excellent customer service Dependability the team can count on The ability to motivate, uplift, and energize the people around you Accountability — the confidence to enforce standards with respect Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout each shift Ability to bend at the waist to clean and maintain tanning equipment Ability to lift or assist in lifting boxes and other items Ability to bend down to pick up trash, towels, and other items from the floor Ability to perform salon cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing
Pay:
$17.00 - $25.00 per hour
