Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, maintaining store organization, and supporting sales efforts. This position requires strong communication skills and a passion for retail, ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities Assist customers with inquiries and provide product information to enhance their shopping experience. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and basic math calculations. Maintain store cleanliness and organization through effective merchandising and stocking of products. Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits to customers. Support sales initiatives by upselling products and promoting special offers. Supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and training as needed. Handle phone inquiries with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette. Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain a positive work environment. Skills Proven experience in retail sales, with a strong understanding of customer service principles. Familiarity with cashiering processes and cash handling procedures. Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and inventory management. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and team members. Experience in merchandising techniques to enhance product visibility and appeal. Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction. Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customer groups. Previous supervising experience is advantageous for team leadership roles within the shop environment.
