Job Description

Overview The Skate Guard is responsible for monitoring skaters on the ice and helping maintain a safe environment for all guests. This position enforces rink rules, assists skaters when needed, responds to incidents, and provides customer service to guests. The Skate Guard will spend most of the shift on or around the ice and must be comfortable working in a cold environment. This role pays an hourly rate of $12.00 and is tip eligible. This is a seasonal role from November 1, 2026, and will end on February 28, 2027. This position will remain open until December 31, 2026. Responsibilities Monitor skaters and make sure rink rules and safety procedures are followed. Skate throughout the rink to observe guest activity and assist when needed. Help skaters who fall or need assistance getting on or off the ice. Enforce rules related to skating direction, speed, horseplay, food and drinks, and other rink policies. Respond to accidents, injuries, or other incidents and notify management when needed. Provide basic first aid when trained and follow emergency procedures. Answer guest questions and provide information about rink rules, sessions, and services. Assist with keeping the ice rink and surrounding areas clean and organized. Check the ice for possible safety concerns and report issues to management. Assist with skate rentals, equipment, events, or other rink operations when needed. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Customer service experience preferred. Ability to skate confidently and safely for extended periods. Basic knowledge of ice skating and skating safety. Ability to communicate with guests and enforce rink rules. Ability to stay alert and respond to incidents while on the ice. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Ability to stand and skate for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to the position. Must be able to work in a cold environment. Must have availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
