PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Retail Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining an exceptional retail shopping experience within the Spa & Fitness department while overseeing all aspects of retail operations, including inventory management, purchasing, receiving, merchandising, and visual presentation. This position supports revenue growth through attractive displays, well-stocked shelves, and a profitable, beautifully merchandised retail environment that enhances the member experience and supports spa and fitness services. This role ensures our retail spaces reflect the luxury standards of the club by keeping displays fresh, organized, and inviting while maintaining accurate inventory levels, strong product availability, and the highest standards of product presentation. Working closely with spa and fitness leadership, vendors, and the front desk team, the Retail Specialist helps maximize retail sales, ensure every product is available and accurately inventoried, and enhance the overall member experience. Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory counts and stock levels. Monitor inventory movement and identify fast
  • and slow-selling products.
Conduct routine cycle counts and assist with full physical inventories. Ensure products are properly rotated using first-in, first-out practices when applicable. Monitor expiration dates and remove outdated products. Identify products for markdown or promotional opportunities. Purchasing & Receiving Place inventory orders with approved vendors. Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing overstock. Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments. Report damaged or missing merchandise. Organize stockrooms for efficiency and cleanliness. Maintain receiving records and invoices. Visual Merchandising Design and maintain attractive retail displays. Rotate displays regularly to keep the retail area fresh and engaging. Create seasonal and holiday merchandising displays. Highlight new arrivals and featured products. Ensure shelves remain fully stocked, clean, organized, and properly labeled. Decorate retail areas to reflect the luxury atmosphere of the club. Pricing Update pricing as directed. Apply discounts and markdowns to discontinued, low inventory or promotional merchandise. Assist with retail events and product launches. Sales Support Educate front desk staff on featured products and promotions. Support retail sales initiatives developed by spa and fitness leadership. Identify opportunities to improve product placement and increase sales. Vendor Relations Communicate with product representatives. Coordinate product deliveries. Maintain professional vendor relationships. Operational Responsibilities Keep storage areas organized and clean. Maintain retail fixtures and shelving. Ensure displays meet luxury presentation standards. Assist with new product launches and seasonal transitions. Perform additional operational duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience with inventory management or retail operations preferred. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects. Strong visual merchandising skills. Excellent customer service and communication abilities. Basic computer proficiency and point-of-sale experience preferred. Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 40 pounds.
