Job Description

Kim Min Kyung Taekwondo Academy in Centreville, VA is looking for a warm, reliable, and organized After-School Care & Office Assistant to join our team! This is a great opportunity for college students, local moms, or anyone who loves working with children and interacting with parents in a positive, structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
After-School Care:
Warmly greet students as they arrive at the academy after school. Supervise snack time and homework/quiet study time. Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging environment for students in the lobby and classroom areas.
Office Support & Parent Pre-Consultation:
Parent Greeting & Initial Consultation:
Greet visiting families, conduct brief initial check-ins to understand the child's needs (e.g., confidence, focus, discipline), and guide parents in filling out basic intake/waiver forms before meeting Master Min.
Front Desk Operations:
Answer incoming phone calls, take clear messages, assist students with class check-in, and provide general schedule information to prospective families.
Lobby & Communication:
Maintain a clean and organized front desk/lobby area, and hand out newsletters, testing notices, and event flyers to parents during pickup times.
Qualifications:
Must be reliable, punctual, and have strong time-management skills. Friendly, patient, and good with children (elementary age). Strong communication skills (interacting with parents and staff). Must be able to pass a standard Background Check. Prior experience in childcare, front desk, customer service, or after-school programs is a plus (but not required—we will train the right person!).
Pay:
$15.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 - 6.0 per week
