Job Summary At the Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity our goal is to bring people together to help provide affordable housing in our community. The ReStore generates revenue through the sale of donated furniture, appliances, tools and building materials, and household items. The SAW ReStore is seeking a friendly, hard-working, customer-service oriented individual with a good attitude. Part-Time ReStore Associate(s) are responsible for assisting the ReStore Director and ReStore Lead in all aspects of the store including but not limited to: customer service, sales register, lifting heavy donations, perform donation pick-ups, unload donations from the box truck(s) or customer vehicles. Responsibilities Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers and donors with a friendly and helpful attitude Assist with safely loading and unloading of donations and purchases for customers/donors Helping to unload donations from the box truck(s) in a safe and efficent manner Cleaning/Processing donations to be priced and put out on the sales floor for purchase Helping to clean and maintain the loading dock, processing area, and sales floor Operate the cash register efficiently, processing transactions accurately and handling cash responsibly Utilize phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or directing calls Working alongside volunteers, community service, and Habitat partner families to ensure they are engaged and feel positive about their volunteer experience Participate as a team player with the ability to adapt to ever changing situations while maintaining a positive attitude Fill in on the box truck for donation pick-ups, as needed Perform other duties and tasks as requested Skills/Experience Cash register operations This position requires the ability to lift heavy items 50-100 lbs (furniture, appliances, building supplies) on a regular basis Fill in on the box truck for donation pick-ups, as needed Perform other duties and tasks as requested Flexibility on work schedule Ability to work Saturdays Previous work experience in retail and a knowledge of antiques, furniture, appliances, and construction supplies is a plus Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
