Duties Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, providing knowledgeable product information and demonstrations. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for retail sales transactions, including cash register operations and cash handling. Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to enhance their shopping experience. Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is well-presented and replenished regularly. Manage retail math tasks such as calculating totals, giving correct change, and maintaining accurate cash drawer handling. Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely. Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and ensuring store standards are met. Assist with inventory management, including stocking supplies and conducting stock counts as needed. Engage customers in product demos to highlight features and benefits, encouraging sales growth. Supervise new team members when needed, sharing best practices for customer service and store operations. Foster a welcoming environment by demonstrating strong communication skills and positive attitude throughout your shift. Experience Previous retail sales experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail transactions enhances your effectiveness in this role. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs more effectively. Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is advantageous for understanding store operations. Demonstrated supervising experience helps in guiding team members and maintaining store standards. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally are essential. Basic math skills are necessary for handling cash transactions accurately and managing the cash drawer confidently.
