JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet and interact with customers Organize and effectively merchandise items for sale Consult with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customers' needs Assist customers with purchase decisions Utilize customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales generating skills Accurately complete sales using the point-of-sale system according to established procedures Process returns and exchanges Monitor all merchandise for correct location assignments, accurate and clean bin labels, expired products, and stock rotation Assist customers by loading and unloading products as needed Maintain product stock in the store and warehouse Assemble products and displays Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships. Practice punctual and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent. Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment. Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently. Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds. Demonstrate basic computer skills, including navigating websites and receiving/sending emails. Proven track record of being dependable and reliable. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. Commitment to excellence & high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service. Professional appearance and demeanor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working in a retail setting Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, horse/equine, hardware, fencing, lawn & garden supplies, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, or wild bird supplies.

SCHEDULE

This is a part-time position; 24 - 32 hours per week (schedule may vary). Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
