About the role As an Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will serve as the shift lead, responsible for ensuring seamless prep execution, team performance, and operational standards. You will oversee the preparation of proteins, vegetables, and sauces, ensuring all components are staged for our bowl-building robots. What you'll do
Shift Ownership:
Own the shift end-to-end, executing standardized recipes for proteins (like chicken and beef), vegetables, and sauces according to precise software-guided SOPs.
Quality Control:
Conduct per-shift quality checkpoints, including taste and spot-checks to log results and proactively correct any drift in food quality.
Operations & Safety:
Manage sanitation through strict nightly cleaning protocols, including weighing hot food waste for tracking and disassembling robot components for washing.
Team Leadership & Coaching:
Drive team culture through hands-on coaching and training; you will have the authority to coach staff on technical drift and lead new hire shadowing and certification.
Equipment & Robotics:
Operate commercial kitchen technology including induction stoves, combi ovens, blenders, and blast chillers. Manage robot interaction, including clean loading of hoppers and basic troubleshooting.
Inventory Management:
Conduct end-of-week inventory counts to identify reordering needs and ensure operational flow. What we are looking for Previous kitchen experience with a focus on team leadership or shift management. Meticulous attention to detail, specifically for portioning, weighing ingredients (e.g., salt), and tracking food waste. Ability to follow and enforce precise, software-guided SOPs and adapt to frequently changing technology-driven protocols. Demonstrated ability to coach teams and maintain high food safety standards. Comfort working in an automated kitchen environment (robotics training provided). Why join us Demand for online food delivery is growing really fast!
