Full Job Description Overview:
The Parts Supervisor directs daily front counter operations and supports accurate, timely parts service for retail guests, Service, and other dealership teams. The role coaches counter team members, resolves order and guest issues, monitors workflow and inventory controls, and performs counter duties when business needs require. The supervisor works under the direction of the Parts Manager or Parts Director. The base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $75,000 annually. In addition, the position is eligible to earn production/performance bonuses and commissions based on individual and/or team performance and as determined by established pay plan. Incentive compensation may range from $0 if minimum performance benchmarks are not met to an estimated 25,000-40,000+ annually, with no predetermined maximum earning limit This position is 100% on site at Longo Toyota in El Monte, CA.

Responsibilities:
Assign and monitor daily front counter work, coverage, response times, order follow-up, and completion of guest and internal requests. Train, coach, and evaluate front counter team members on parts identification, guest service, dealership systems, order processing, cash handling, and applicable procedures; provide input on hiring and corrective action to the Parts Manager or Director. Identify correct parts and accessories using vehicle information, electronic parts catalogs, and manufacturer resources; verify fitment, availability, pricing, and order details before quoting or fulfilling requests. Assist retail guests and respond to telephone and online inquiries; explain options, obtain approvals, prepare quotes and invoices, and recommend related parts or accessories when relevant to the guest's needs. Coordinate with Service advisors and technicians to prioritize repair orders, communicate availability and estimated arrival, and resolve discrepancies that could delay vehicle repairs. Oversee special orders, back orders, will-call items, shipments, and guest notifications; document status and follow through to delivery, pickup, or appropriate resolution. Verify picking, invoicing, payment, returns, credits, and core transactions according to dealership controls; investigate and correct errors or escalate exceptions. Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, bin checks, stock replenishment, aged or obsolete inventory review, and documentation of discrepancies in coordination with the manager and inventory team. Handle escalated guest concerns promptly and professionally, including parts errors, delivery issues, and returns; involve management when an exception or authorization is required. Monitor front counter performance and report service, sales, gross profit, and accuracy trends to the manager; recommend workflow and training improvements. Apply manufacturer policies, warranty and return procedures, dealership standards, and workplace safety practices; maintain orderly work areas and secure parts, payment information, and dealership records. Coordinate with vendors and other departments to address availability, returns, delivery, and fulfillment issues within assigned authority.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Individuals should possess:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience. At least two years of automotive dealership parts experience preferred; experience coaching or leading a parts counter team preferred Working knowledge of vehicle parts identification, electronic parts catalogs, dealership management systems, pricing, order processing, inventory controls, and manufacturer procedures. Ability to prioritize competing requests, resolve discrepancies, use basic business math, maintain accurate records, and communicate clearly with guests, technicians, vendors, and team members. Ability to read and apply safety instructions, parts information, and dealership procedures and to use standard computer, telephone, and payment systems. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Individual will be required to:
Frequently remain in a stationary position and frequently stand or walk through office, counter, receiving, and parts-storage areas. Frequently use a computer, telephone, keyboard, mouse, scanner, and other office or parts-department equipment; perform repetitive hand and finger movements. Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with others; observe information on screens, documents, labels, parts, shelves, and storage locations at near and intermediate distances. Occasionally reach above shoulder level; bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, or climb a step stool or approved ladder to inspect or access inventory and work areas. Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or reposition items weighing up to 25 pounds. Use team lifting or appropriate material-handling equipment for heavier or awkward items. Occasionally move between dealership buildings, departments, parking areas, warehouse or storage locations and work around moving vehicles and material-handling activity. Work Environment Work is performed in office, parts-counter, receiving, warehouse, service, and dealership areas. Most work occurs indoors, with occasional exposure to outdoor weather and temperature changes. The employee may be exposed to moderate or loud noise, moving vehicles or equipment, dust, fumes, oils, chemicals, and other conditions typical of dealership service and parts operations. Required safety procedures and personal protective equipment must be followed. The position regularly involves interaction with team members, guests, and vendors and may require managing competing priorities, time-sensitive requests, and escalated concerns.
