Fairfax Working hours This position is 40 hrs/wk, mixed shifts and includes one weekend day. Wage Range for New Hires $25-$27/hr Pay Grade for the Position After Hire $25-$35/hr

Full-time Description Our Fairfax store is currently looking to hire a Full Time Specialty Cheese & Wine Manager. Our Fairfax store is looking for a full time Specialty Manager to lead our full service Specialty department. We specialize in organic and biodynamic wines, organic beer, as well as artisan cheeses from many local and organic producers. We are seeking a person with at least one year of management experience. This position requires someone who has strong knowledge of wine and cheese, a sincere commitment to the organic food movement, and a leadership style that is based on team building, teaching, supporting, and role-modeling. Also required is the ability to manage the finances of the department, including participating in buying, overseeing buyers, pricing, margins, inventory. Responsibilities Lead a team of four or five in performance, customer service, product knowledge Train and maintain department procedures, skills, and operations Oversight of ordering and product quality Fulfillment of Safety Program and cultivating a strong Safety Culture Maintain sanitation and presentation standards for the department Responsible for costing updates, pricing, and margin blending Handle all personnel development and administration including interviewing, hiring, and separations Qualifications Minimum one year of buying experience Minimum one year of previous management experience at department level Strong knowledge of wine, beer and artisan/specialty cheeses Cheese cutting and wrapping or strong food handling experience Computer skills to place orders and create purchase orders Ability to lift and move wine boxes up to 45 lbs, stock product on shelves, cut & wrap cheese Benefits For our Full-Time Employees, we offer: Profit Share Bonuses Medical, dental and vision plans Paid Vacation and Sick Time 30% storewide discount, 50% discount on made to order Takeout food and drink 401k benefit with employer match
