Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Relief Assistant Manager assists in running the day-to-day operations of the food and beverage departments. Assists in all food and beverage areas for vacation and shift coverage. Assumes the role of Assistant Manager in food service outlets and the Beverage Department as necessary. Supports Food and Beverage Managers in running day to day operation. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort's "ELITE" company-wide culture and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times. 2. Provides leadership and guidance to Food and Beverage Team Members, ensuring that the core values of the organization are put into practice. 3. Manage the operational and administrative responsibilities of a restaurant or beverage outlet. 4. Assist with Guest recoveries and Team Member concerns by providing the appropriate level of documentation and follow-up. 5. Assist in the development of product offerings including wine and spirits, food recipes, prices, and presentation. 6. Assist in the collection of data required to formulate and maintain business plans and objectives, budget planning and coordination, and financial presentations. 7. Coach and develop Team Members to achieve expected goals by maintaining a consistent approachable demeanor and articulating department expectations. 8. Monitor industry developments to ensure company food and beverage offerings remain exceptional and provide a high level of Guest satisfaction. 9. Provide timely departmental analysis to senior management to ensure business objectives are maintained and achieved.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Two (2) years of management experience in high volume, multi-outlet food and beverage operation. 2. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; college degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management preferred. 3. Must have working experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office, Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, timekeeping and scheduling software, and ordering and requisitioning software. 4. Ability to coach, mentor, and lead Team Members under a collective bargaining agreement. 5. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form. 6. Must be flexible with work hours and be able to work any shift including weekends and holidays. Must be able to accommodate impromptu schedule changes based on business needs. 7. Must be at least 21 years of age. 8. Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. 2. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged time periods. 3. Manual dexterity to use job related equipment. 4. Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically conducted in the casino, which may be hot, cold, noisy, and in the presence of secondhand smoke. Work may also be performed outdoors and involve continuous exposure to high and low temperatures, inclement weather, sunlight, and wet surfaces. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp. Tasks may be performed from a sitting or non-sitting position. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned area. Frequent contact with fellow Team Members and Guests is standard. Work hours and days may be revised as company needs and workplace circumstances dictate.
