About the Employer Modesto City Schools is a Pre-K through 12th grade district, serving approximately 30,000 students. View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications Work experience necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position; Completion of an apprenticeship as an automotive mechanic or forty-eight (48) months experience as a general automotive repairperson acquired through an accredited apprenticeship program; Three (3) years of supervisory experience in the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of mechanical equipment; High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate or California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) Certificate; Class C driver's license holders are eligible to apply; however, if selected, the candidate must obtain a Class B license (Valid California Commercial Driver's License - Class B with Air Brake and Passenger endorsement to be obtained within the first sixty (60) days of employment); Valid medical examiner's certificate issued in accordance with the Motor Carrier safety regulations of the Department of Motor Vehicles; Department of Transportation Power Industrial Truck Operator's Permit to be obtained within the first sixty (60) days of employment; Must provide a DMV printout within five (5) workdays of offer of employment.
